Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public rally in Udhampur, issued a challenge to the opposition regarding the restoration of Article 370, emphasizing that his government not only abolished the provision but also ensured its complete eradication. He called upon the opposition, particularly the Congress-led INDI alliance, to demonstrate their willingness to reinstate Article 370, asserting that such a move would be met with public disapproval.
Highlighting the positive changes in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, PM Modi underscored the improved security situation and the newfound sense of stability in the region. He pointed out that issues like terrorism, separatism, and stone-pelting are no longer prevalent, paving the way for development and progress in various sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
Moreover, PM Modi reaffirmed the government's commitment to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, assuring the public that assembly elections will soon be conducted in the region. He contrasted this with the promises made by the Congress manifesto, which pledges to restore statehood only if the party comes to power at the Centre.
In his speech, PM Modi also criticized the National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party, labeling them as family-controlled entities that have hindered the progress of Jammu and Kashmir. He challenged their narrative on Article 370, urging them to acknowledge the positive impact of its abrogation on various communities within the region.
PM Modi's address centered on the transformation of Jammu and Kashmir post-Article 370, positioning it as a success story of his government's policies and initiatives in the region.
